Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Online Adoption Application Please consider adopting BO. We saved him when he was hit by a car on the side of the road right here in Kinston NC. We are a rescue so our main goal is to find them loving homes. He had an owner but he never came back for him after we did all his medical and got him neutered and fixed him up. He basically told us he doesnt have a place for him anymore. He is a great dog, still a puppy with plenty of energy, great with all the other dogs here. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
