Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Meet Theo Theo is a 1-year-old, 73.5-lb Terrier–Shepherd mix with the sweetest soul and the happiest personality. This handsome boy is a total snuggle bug who lives for cozy moments—especially curled up on warm blankets or tucked underneath them like a little burrito. Theo is crate trained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped, making him truly ready for his forever home. He already knows “sit” and will proudly offer his paw when asked—especially if it earns him some love. He adores people, is friendly and affectionate with everyone he meets, and carries that joyful, puppy-hearted energy that makes him a delight to be around. When playtime is over, you’ll often find him sleeping on his back, paws in the air, completely relaxed and content. Theo loves to play with toys and stay active, but he does have allergies to rubber toys, so plush or fabric toys are best for him. He’s playful, gentle, loving, and endlessly affectionate—a truly happy puppy with a heart of gold. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily play with you and then snuggle up close, Theo is your perfect match. Interested in adopting this pet? Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
