Description
Dog Breed: Cocker Spaniel. Brave is a 2 year old cocker spaniel. This is what his foster family says about him... Brave is Two years young and looking for his forever family. Brave is crate trained, potty trained and knows to sit, wait, leave it and place. He is very smart and food motivated! He is neutered, up to date on all of his shots and behaves well at the vet. Brave and his Foster Mom are working with a Trainer to address his reactivity when walking on a leash. He will need someone who is willing to keep up the Training he has done so far and can continue to make progress. Brave loves adventure, playing with his toys, hunting for them in hide and seek play and especially going for walks. He would do best in a home with older kids and he is very used to kids coming in and out. Brave needs someone to be patient because he can have his guard up at first but he is just frightened of new people sometimes and you will see his tail wagging. Once he gets to know you, Brave can be very loving and is happiest by your side or lying on his bed near you. He is such a sweet boy and has so much love to give! If you are interested in making Brave part of your family, please contact Beth at sharackb68gmail This is a courtesy post for the owner of this dog. Overview:
The Cocker Spaniel, a beloved breed with roots in the United Kingdom, was originally bred as a gundog to flush out woodcock. They are instantly recognizable by their medium size, typically weighing 20-30 pounds, their luxurious, often wavy coat (which comes in a variety of colors), and their long, expressive ears that frame their gentle, eager-to-please eyes. Known for their merry and affectionate temperament, Cockers are generally good-natured, intelligent, and relatively easy to train, making them an excellent choice for families with children and even first-time dog owners. While adaptable, their moderate exercise needs can be met with daily walks and playtime, making them suitable for apartment living as long as they receive sufficient mental and physical stimulation. Prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including ear infections (due to their long ears), eye conditions like cataracts, and hip dysplasia, which highlight the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
