Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. This is Chopo. A 5-year-old Pit/Lab mix weighing approximately 88 pounds who has spent 217 days in the shelter as of 04/10/26- 217 days of waiting, watching others leave, and hoping someone will finally choose him. Chopo didn't do anything wrong. Life changed for his previous family, and he lost his home. Through it all, he has remained friendly, social, and full of life. He is house trained, does well with dogs and children, and has even made a few dog friends during his time at the shelter. If you already have a dog at home, a meet and greet is encouraged to ensure he's a good fit for your home prior to adoption. He is a dog who shows up every day ready to love, ready for attention, and ready for whatever adventure might come his way. Despite being overlooked time and time again, Chopo has never stopped believing his person is out there. As a Diamond Dog, his adoption fee has been reduced to $75, but what he offers in return is immeasurable. He is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccination and basic boosters, and while he is heartworm positive, his treatment is sponsored by Rockwall PAWS at little to no cost to his adopter-giving him every opportunity to live a long, healthy life. Chopo does not need perfection. He does not need a perfect home. He just needs someone willing to step forward and give him the second chance he has been waiting for.
