He’s still working on his leash manners and basic obedience, but you can see it in his eyes — he wants to learn. With consistency, structure, and someone who enjoys training, Hulk will absolutely thrive. Hulk is great with other dogs and does wonderfully with kids, but he’s still learning about personal space. He’s a big, enthusiastic puppy who shows his affection with his whole body, so he’d do best with children who are confident around large, bouncy dogs and can handle his goofy, loving energy. He can also go home with a dog‑savvy cat—specifically one who’s used to big, powerful puppies and won’t be intimidated by his curiosity. With the right feline friend who can set clear boundaries, Hulk can settle in well. Hulk's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
