Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 350. Meet Cheyenne, a 3 to 4-year-old lovable and gentle spirit weighing around 45 lbs. This sweet, affectionate gal is a faithful cuddle buddy who will melt your heart. Rescued from the streets of Mexico, Cheyenne's story is one of resilience and trust—she followed her foster father home after he stopped to feed her. Fully house-trained, vaccinated, spayed, and chipped, she is ready to become a loving member of your family. Cheyenne’s laid-back temperament, low prey drive, and friendly nature make her perfect for families with children, other pets, and even cats. She loves cuddling and taking walks downtown to greet everyone, but she also enjoys her naps, chewies, and treats. Don’t miss the chance to give this incredible girl a forever home—she’s waiting to bring joy, love, and companionship into your life. Cheyenne is currently being fostered in Benicia, CA. Please contact Tracy at tracyong1818gmail if you would like more information on this special gal. California Pit bull Rescue is an official 501(c)(3) and requires an adoption application and $200 donation fee for all adoptions.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
