Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Rumble is a sweet, cuddly Shepherd mix pup with all the joyful energy you’d expect from a young dog. He loves to play, explore, and then melt into you for cozy cuddle time. Whether he’s chasing toys, romping with dog friends, or soaking up belly rubs, Rumble brings a whole lot of happy wherever he goes. He’d thrive in a home with or without another dog, but he definitely enjoys canine company and playful companionship. Rumble is crate trained and doing well with housebreaking, and he’s looking for a family who will keep building his skills with positive, consistent training. A fenced yard would be a dream for this active boy so he can safely run, play, and burn off that puppy energy. Rumble’s favorite things include toys, other dogs, cuddle time, food, and treats (in roughly that order… depending on the day!). He would do best with a family that can keep him active, engaged, and included in daily life. He previously had a loving home, but as a growing puppy he was spending too much time in a crate and needs a place where he can stretch his legs, learn, and be part of the action. If you’re looking for a playful companion who gives world-class snuggles and endless tail wags, Rumble is ready to meet you. Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
