Thaddeus is a 6-year-old Labrador Retriever mix (and possibly even a little younger) who recently got his second chance at life after surviving on the streets for far too long. When he first arrived at the shelter he was filthy and severely emaciated, with a body condition score of just 2.5/9. His ribs, spine, and pelvic bones were painfully visible. Yet despite everything he had endured, Thaddeus still earned the best possible behavior score during his exam, which tells you everything you need to know about the heart this boy has. Now safe in a foster home, Thaddeus has filled out nicely and is learning what it means to be part of a family. His canine foster siblings have been helping show him the ropes, and he’s doing great settling into home life. Thaddeus is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and eager to please. He truly wants to bond with his people and has a loving, almost needy side that makes him especially endearing. With structure and individual attention, he is the kind of dog who will absolutely thrive. He enjoys the company of other friendly dogs and benefits from having a canine companion around, but what he really loves most is connecting with his humans. He’s a total snuggle bug who loves affection, yet he also has great energy and would happily join his family on hikes and outdoor adventures. Thaddeus would do best in a home with older children, as he can get a little nippy when he becomes excited or overstimulated. He has also shown excessive interest in cats, so a cat-free home will be important for him. This resilient boy has already come so far and is ready for a family who will give him the stability, patience, and love he has always deserved.
