Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $433.50 (includes MN taxes). 2.12.26 PUPDATE (written by current foster) Millie is a 6 1/2 year old boxer lab mix with a full tail. She came from a family life and had lived indoors. She likes attention and neck scratches. She may have a torn ACL on her back right leg but has been using it a little with pain medication in place. She has a sweet personality and could be a great only dog. With our boxer, Ester, she likes following Ester’s lead but needed a couple of gentle reminders of her place in the pack. She does well with the commands sit and come when food is involved. . We have tried out a couple of different leashes on her and she stays close on yard walks. We haven’t tried any actual walks around the block due to her leg. She will need rehab for her leg withborc without surgery. We're waiting to hear back fromthe surgeon on her options. INTAKE 1.26.26 (written by previous owner) This is Miss Millie. A 6 1/2 year old Boxer, Lab mixed breed that was born on June 5, 2019. She is a very shy girl who takes a couple of visits to warm up to new people in places but she is super sweet and loves attention. She has always done well with other animals and children. Millie is not aggressive but tends to get very excited and a little jealous, letting you know vocally by crying and whining that she sees others getting the attention that she wants. She is also a bit protective over her food dish. Overall, Millie is a very good girl who just needs some extra love and care due to an injury of a major tendon in her back leg. She had always lived in a home with a fenced in yard so had not had much exposure to being on a leash or outside of her own territory, making her leash skills and listening to command skills not very good but she is super smart so could learn these skills easily. We just hope Millie finds the right home that can take care of her like she deserves.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
