Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Approx. DOB: 7/13/25 Current Weight(as of 2/20/26): 43 Lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Bria is a sweet 10-month-old shepherd mix with lots of playful energy and an even bigger heart. She came to Furry Kids with a broken jaw. Even after surgery and while she healed, she never let that get her down. She’s a happy, playful girl. She’s a smart girl, too! Bria knows, sit, shake, Bria is house trained, crate trained, trained to hit the bell at the back door when she has to go outside. Bria loves: car rides, kids, other dogs, Her ideal home would have a fenced yard where she can safely burn off energy and another friendly, playful dog to wrestle and romp with. She loves kids, gets along great with other dogs, and truly just wants to be part of an active, loving family. If you’re looking for a fun, loyal companion to grow up with your family, Bria might be your girl. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
