Meet Cooper! Remember Nieve? His foster family has been calling him Cooper, and this handsome 11 month old, 37 pound Sato continues to show us more of his personality every day! Cooper has made some wonderful progress since we first introduced him. He has really warmed up to his foster dad and is now greeting men happily. He still tends to seek out women first, but he is becoming more comfortable with everyone he meets. He is completely potty trained, does well off leash, and gets along beautifully with dogs and cats. He is also a total cuddle bug and is incredibly gentle with people. Cooper is smart and VERY food motivated, which is helping him learn new skills. He understands “inside,” “wait,” and “come,” and is working on “sit” and “lay.” His leash walking is also improving as he continues to practice. We are still working on sharing with the resident dogs so his future family should be willing to continue positive training and management. We also want to give him more positive experiences around children. He has had limited exposure so far and will need thoughtful introductions as he learns. Cooper is not a finished product. He is a young dog who is learning, growing and gaining confidence every day.
