Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Mama Minibyte arrived at a shelter as a terrified stray and delivered her puppies shortly after. Rescue stepped in so she and her babies could be safe, supported, and cared for in a foster home. With her puppies now adopted, Mini is beginning her own journey of decompressing and rebuilding confidence. She is slowly learning what it means to feel secure, accept gentle affection, and relax in a home environment. Mini will be spayed and further evaluated as she continues to settle, so we can match her with the best possible home when she is ready. • Best for a calm, patient home that understands decompression • Progressing steadily in foster care All of our animals receive comprehensive veterinary care prior to adoption, including a full exam, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, spay or neuter, heartworm testing, and any necessary medical treatment. A vet reference, home and/or family visit, and an adoption fee are required. Transport options are available within our operating region, including Pennsylvania, the tri-state area, and New England. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
