Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Please contact SSRR (Adoptionssouthernstatesrescuedrottweilers) for more information about this pet. Meet Mulan—a super sweet 6-year-old Rottie mix with a heart of gold. This lovely girl was recently released from a noisy, stressful shelter environment, where she ended up through no fault of her own. Sadly, her previous owner developed health issues and could no longer care for her. Mulan has the softest fur and will make a wonderful companion for someone. Mulan is more a “pocket” Rottie if there is such a thing. She’s about 55 pounds right now. She’s a devoted little shadow, happily following you from room to room before settling down nearby while you go about your day. While she’s not a fan of crates (likely due to her shelter experience), she will go into one if the door is left open. At night, she sleeps quietly on her dog bed and is perfectly house-trained—no accidents since arriving in her foster home. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and tends to simply ignore them—her foster mom has three small dogs, and Mulan pays them no mind at all unless they bark. Then, she will meander over to see if it is something truly deserving of her attention or not. Most of the time, it is not. (Mulan wants you to know that although she doesn’t mind the little dogs, she does wonder why her foster mom doesn’t have “real” Rottie dogs; however, it’s a character flaw she’s willing to overlook for now.) Mulan has that classic deep Rottie bark and will “chat” with you when she has something to say, but she’s far from a nuisance barker. She’s just a gentle, easygoing girl looking for a calm, loving home to call her own. If you want a sweet girl looking to be your forever companion to whom you can tell all your secrets, put in your application today for Mulan. She won’t be available for long! Upon approval to adopt, you will be sent SSRR Decompression and Introduction requirements that we require ALL of our adopters to follow . Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
