Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). This sweet boy hasn’t always known the easy life. Stan is a 1-year-old, 55-pound pup who was once owned by someone experiencing homelessness. At some point, something went wrong, and he was left behind—crated in an abandoned house—with no chance of survival. Because of that, Stan does struggle with some separation and kennel anxiety. And honestly… who wouldn’t after going through something like that? But here’s the amazing part… Despite everything, Stan is one of the friendliest dogs you will ever meet. He loves everyone and fully believes every person he meets is there to love him right back. He’s good with other dogs, but he can be a little too enthusiastic at times and is still learning appropriate play and boundaries. He’s also working on house training and will thrive with consistency and routine. Stan would do best with a patient, committed person who’s willing to guide him, build his confidence, and show him that he will never be abandoned again. He doesn’t need perfection—just someone who won’t give up on him. And in return? You’ll get one of the most loyal, loving companions out there. ✨ Give Stan the life he’s always deserved. ✨ Apply to adopt: lsar.rescuegroups

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
