Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua. Meet Milo, he is approximately 6 years old. He is a little shy at first but warms up quickly when given lots of treats! Milo is crate and pee pad trained. When he is not out exploring, he prefers to be in his crate relaxing on his comfy bed. He is great with other dogs and children. Keller's Kats Rescue Inc. is a registered 501c3 non-profit, volunteer run, no-kill rescue group that provides foster homes for homeless, abused or abandoned animals facing euthanasia. All of our Dogs have been spayed/neutered, received age appropriate vaccines, deflead, dewormed, and microchipped. The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
