Description
Dog Breed: Husky (medium coat). ONLY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION IN NEW JERSEY AND LOCAL SURROUNDING AREAS!!! Ghost is a stunning 4-year-old Husky with a heart as big as his beautiful icy eyes. This sweet boy is fully vetted, healthy, and ready to find the forever home he has always deserved. Despite being let down by a few families in his short life, Ghost has remained incredibly loving and trusting. He is affectionate with people, enjoys being close to his humans, and walks very nicely on leash. Ghost has also previously lived with children and did well being part of a family. Like many Huskies, Ghost has a curious spirit and enjoys exploring the world around him. Because of this, a secure fenced yard is strongly recommended so he can safely enjoy outdoor time. Ghost isn’t looking for perfection—he’s simply hoping for a family that will finally make him part of their pack for good. In return, he’ll offer loyalty, affection, and companionship that only a dog who truly appreciates a second chance can give. If you’re ready to give Ghost the stable, loving home he’s been waiting for, he’s ready to meet you!!! If you are interested in Ghost, please go to bfdaaa to complete an application.

Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
