Please contact Kendall Majtyka (kendall.majtykaluckydoganimalrescue) for more information about this pet. Beautiful pup looking for family! HASSIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Hassie Best Guess for Breed: Lab mix Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years old as of July 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 41 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We have tested Hassie with some of the cats at the shelter, and she did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Hassie could live with a cat, she has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack! We do not recommend her for a home with kids. Currently Living at: DC area foster home Check out this video of Hassie: youtube/shorts/i7PkPUSJJhc. Special Adoption Considerations: Because Hassie is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. Hassie is Looking For: This beautiful girl with the sweetest face can't wait to meet her forever family. She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own but is confident the right humans for her are out there! Hassie is looking for her people - the ones that will love her unconditionally and spoil her rotten with lots of walks, doggy playdates, and snuggles on the couch. Be careful, she might use her puppy dog eyes to get lots of extra treats from you! What My Foster Says About Me: Hassie is a sweet, loving girl who truly bonds to her people. She is eager to please and leash trained. She sleeps through the night in a crate easily. She loves walks and playing fetch, which she could do for hours! Heartworm information: Hassie is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Hassie has completed this activity restriction period. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
