Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Sadie! Sadie is a 3-year-old pitbull with the sweetest soul and a heart full of love. She came from a difficult hoarding situation where she lived alongside two other dogs and more than 50 cats, but despite her past, Sadie has remained incredibly gentle, trusting, and affectionate. She is wonderfully cat-friendly, gets along great with other dogs, and absolutely adores people. Sadie has a calm, loving personality and is happiest when she’s close to her humans soaking up attention, cuddles, and kindness. Her resilient spirit and soft nature make her a truly special girl who’s ready to leave her past behind and start the happy life she deserves. Sadie would make an amazing companion for a family looking for a loyal, sweet, and easygoing best friend. Applications can be filled out at .piedmontanimalrescue/adopt! Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine. The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
