Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Husky / Mixed. Meet Montana a 2-year-old Shepherd mix weighing 56 lbs who is beginning his journey toward healing and a better life. Montana was surrendered when his previous owners were unable to properly care for him. At intake, he had a large laceration around his neck caused by a collar that had been too tight for far too long. He is currently receiving treatment and is already on the road to recovery both physically and emotionally. Despite everything he's been through, Montana is a sweet soul who simply hasn't had the chance to learn what being a dog is all about. As he continues to decompress and gain confidence, we will update his bio with more details about his personality. For now, he is walking decently on a leash and will need a patient, loving family committed to helping him heal and discover the good life he deserves. Montana is neutered, microchipped, current on his rabies vaccine, and boosters are up to date. He is heartworm positive, but thanks to Rockwall PAWS, his treatment is sponsored so he can get back to living a healthy life as soon as possible. Due to his condition at intake, we have not paired Montana with other dogs yet. If you have dogs in the home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to ensure a good match. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
