Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications. You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets. Reggie is an 1-year-old Shepherd mix who has already been neutered. He was brought in as a stray after being found out in the county. Reggie is brown with white markings; and he has black highlights spread throughout his coat. He has one brown eye and one beautiful blue eye! Reggie weighs 38 pounds so he is a medium sized young adult dog. This guy is a real doll! He is sweet to everyone including staff, dogs, children--everyone! Reggie is playful but gentle and loves to romp outside and play with his canine friends at the shelter. Reggie can't wait to have his very own family; and we can't wait either! Reggie deserves a great family who will love him forever. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under "special needs" our dogs have screened heart worm negative. *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
