Ford is a 1-year-old Pit Bull with a stunning dark red coat and the personality of a big, goofy baby. He's all about playtime, running, cuddles, and toys. Ford may not have a lot of deep thoughts bouncing around in his head, but he knows one thing for sure: he's ready to be your best friend. Think of him like a Ford F-150: strong, dependable, built for adventure, and always excited to go wherever you're headed. He's the kind of dog who's happiest riding shotgun through life. Ford is a big guy with an even bigger heart. While he loves people, he prefers to be approached on his terms. He is not a fan of having his face touched or having people lean over him when first meeting him. Giving him a little space and letting him come to you helps him feel comfortable and confident. Despite his size, Ford is convinced he's a lap dog. This boy loves couches, chairs, and any cozy spot he can fit himself into. If there's a seat available, expect Ford to claim it and make himself right at home. His favorite activities include relaxing with his people and soaking up attention after a day of play. Like many young dogs, Ford is also a bit of a counter surfer. If there's food within reach, he'll happily investigate to see if it's meant for him. His future family will need to help him continue learning good manners around food and keep tempting snacks safely out of reach. With consistency and training, Ford can continue building better habits. Ford came to us as a stray, and before arriving, he did growl at children. Because of this, he will need a kid-free home where he can feel safe and comfortable. During his cat test, Ford was a little too interested in our feline friends, so he'll also need a cat-free home. Ford is currently taking Fluoxetine and Gabapentin to help manage shelter-related anxiety. These medications cannot be stopped without veterinary approval, and any changes to his treatment plan should be made under the guidance of a licensed veterinarian.
