Our Adoption Process:Muttsinneed/adoption-process New puppy incoming on the site At just less than 3 mos old, Lucy is living proof that a little bit of "extra" makes a puppy extra special. She was born February 27 meaning she’s a Pisces and anyone who knows a Pisces will know that she too is also intuitive and creative. She has a fiery personality and the days are never dull with her around. Lucy was risking life at the shelter due to her quirks that makes a breeder view dogs as disposable. Lucy is majority border collie with Aussie mixed in there and while it’s too early to tell, she is likely nearsighted in one eye and slight of hearing. Despite this, she tracks movement beautifully and gets around just like any other puppy. What she lacks in senses, she makes up for in her sense of smell, making her a sensory superstar! Because Lucy is such a social butterfly, she would thrive in a home with another dog friend to show her the ropes and play "zoomies" in the yard. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of its highly trainable parent breeds, the Border-Aussie typically exhibits a medium build with a striking, often bi- or tri-colored coat that can be rough or smooth. Temperamentally, they are incredibly intelligent, energetic, and possess a strong work drive, making them eager to learn and excel in various dog sports. While generally good-natured and loyal, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them best suited for active families or individuals who can provide consistent training and plenty of exercise; they are generally not ideal for apartment living. Potential owners should also be aware of common health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions (like Collie Eye Anomaly), and epilepsy.
