This adorable 9-month-old pup is full of love, curiosity, and puppy charm, and he's ready to find a family to call his own. Woodford is almost fully potty trained and is eager to keep learning. He's incredibly affectionate and believes kisses are the best way to show his love, so be prepared for plenty of happy puppy licks! He loves to play, curl up in your lap, and will gladly follow you from room to room just to be close. When he's not soaking up attention, you'll find him chewing on a favorite bone, chasing squeaky toys, enjoying belly rubs, or heading out for a walk. One thing he can do without? Small, confined spaces and swimming—this boy prefers to keep all four paws on dry land! Woodford loves people and enjoys playing with other dogs, making him a wonderful candidate for a home with canine companions or an active family ready for fun. Like any young pup, he's still learning the ropes and is working on his house manners, leash skills, and basic commands. He's smart, eager to please, and would thrive with a family willing to invest time, patience, and positive reinforcement into his training. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
