Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Akbash (medium coat). Ariel has been with us now for several weeks. She was recently spayed and once recovered she will be ready for her forever family. What does that look like for Miss Ariel?? She needs a fenced yard, she loves to be outside! She isn't an LGD but she does keep an eye on everything going on and let's you know what she thinks about it all! Ariel is good with kids but she is very playful and very strong so older kids would be better. She is cat selective, some are ok and some are not and will chase! Ariel is good with other dogs and is asking for a home with a doggy door so she can come and go as she pleases! She is being fostered in Idaho.

Despite their imposing size, their temperament is generally calm, gentle, and remarkably patient, making them excellent companions. They possess a natural protectiveness, which translates to a watchful eye over their families and property. While loving and tolerant with children, their size and barking tendencies make them less suited for small apartment living; a home with a yard is ideal. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, patellar luxation, and certain eye conditions, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding. Their independent nature also means they require consistent, positive reinforcement training.
