He patiently waited in boarding, hoping someone would give him a chance. Then MAD Rescue stepped in, and after an incredible journey across the country, he finally made it to a foster home where he's been able to decompress, learn, and start enjoying life. Now, this resilient 3-year-old Malinois mix is ready for the one thing he's been waiting for all along: a forever family. John Wick may have partial vision—or even no vision—in one eye, but don't tell him that. It certainly hasn't slowed him down. He's learning that the world is a safe place, building confidence every day, and proving that his spirit is far stronger than any obstacle he's faced. In foster care, John Wick has shown that he's incredibly devoted to his people. He loves being close to them and soaks up every bit of affection he can get. Like many dogs who have had an uncertain past, he's still learning that he doesn't have to compete for love, so he'd do best with a family that will continue helping him build confidence and security. After slow, thoughtful introductions, John Wick has settled in well with his foster's older, larger female Retriever mix. Because of his play style, reactivity, and tendency to guard his favorite people, he would do best as an only dog or with the right confident, tolerant, similarly sized canine companion. He is not a good fit for homes with small dogs. John Wick is also looking for a home without young children. Older, dog-savvy teens who understand boundaries may be considered, but a quieter household will allow him to continue thriving. What John Wick needs most is someone willing to see beyond his past and appreciate the incredible dog standing in front of them. He's smart, resilient, loyal, and ready to devote his whole heart to the people who give him the chance he's been waiting for. John Wick has already traveled across the country for his fresh start.
