Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Boxer / Mixed (medium coat). Foster or forever home needed! Meet adorable Winnie! Winnie came to us as an owner surrender due to the family living situation changing. Winnie has lots of good qualities! In the past, she has lived with dogs, cats, and kids 5 years and up. She can be shy with new people at first, but she sure does love spending time with her family. She wants to be near her people. Winnie has lots of energy, so a family that can keep her active would be ideal. Winnie is such an enthusiastic player; she loves to play fetch and to chase anything that runs! It will be important for Winnie's new family to be sure that Winnie does not overdo during playtime. She could probably play fetch for hours, but being a black dog with a bit shorter snout, we wouldn't want Winnie to get overheated. Winnie is crate trained and house trained. She will thrive in a home that provides her with activity and love. If Winnie sounds like a pup that would fit well in your family, please fill out an application at labradorsandfriends. Winnie is located in southern California.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
