Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Marcie is Looking For: Her forever home! She is at the tail end of puppyhood and has so much to see and do! She is looking for her own humans to trot alongside on long sniffy walks and romps in parks and adventures to burn all that awesome young-dog energy. Also on her wish list: plenty of ear scritches, quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and some new pup pals to play with! But above all, she wants to know where she belongs, to be under her own roof, safe and loved. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see Marcie by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: "Marcie is a 7-month-old Lab/Boxer mix with a big personality and even bigger puppy energy! She's an adorable, affectionate girl who bonds quickly with her people and loves to cuddle. She's definitely a Velcro dog and thrives on companionship. Marcie is smart and eager to learn. We're currently working on house training, loose-leash walking, managing puppy nipping, and greeting people calmly. She's picking up new skills quickly and genuinely enjoys training sessions. She's very social and playful with both dogs and strangers. She would do especially well in a home with another playful dog, as she loves having a canine friend to wrestle and play with. She's been having a great time with my adult Chihuahua-Pinscher, although, like any enthusiastic puppy, she can sometimes be a little persistent in trying to get her to play. She's a beautiful, affectionate, fun-loving puppy with so much potential. With continued training, consistency, and lots of love, she's going to make an incredible companion!" Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxador, a popular designer dog, is a lively crossbreed resulting from the union of a Boxer and a Labrador Retriever. Originating in North America, this hybrid was developed to combine the best traits of its parent breeds, creating a loyal and energetic companion. Physically, Boxadors are medium to large-sized dogs with a muscular build, typically weighing between 50-80 pounds. Their coat is short and dense, varying in color from brindle and fawn to black and chocolate, often displaying the distinctive Boxer mask or the gentle Lab expression. Temperamentally, they are known for being friendly, intelligent, and highly social, making them excellent family pets that thrive on interaction. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they require regular exercise and are best suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and heart conditions like aortic stenosis.
