Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Hi. I'm Rivas. And I'll give you a second to recover, because yes — those are my eyes. Light green-blue, the kind that stop people mid-sentence. Pair them with my gray coat and soft brushstrokes of light brindle, and, well… I've been called handsome more than once. I try to stay humble about it. I'm still very much a puppy — big, strong, and full of that goofy growing-boy energy. I'll be honest with you: I'm still working on my leash manners. When you're as strong as I am and the whole world is this exciting, walking politely takes practice — but I'm learning, and I just need a patient person to show me the ropes (literally). I'm a good boy at heart who wants to get it right. And here's where I really shine: at social time, I sit nicely and take it all in like a gentleman, and I'm very good with other dogs. I love my buddies and I know how to share space without any drama. Give me good canine company and I'm a happy, easygoing guy. What I'm looking for is someone who'll meet me where I am — a person ready for a strong, sweet, still-growing boy with a whole lot of love and a little bit to learn. Help me finish becoming the great dog I'm so clearly going to be. Come look into these eyes and tell me you can walk away. I'll wait. AZ Mastiff Rescue Phoenix, Arizona Adopt to all states.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
