Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Beatrice! This sweet, happy girl is always ready to spend time with people. Whether she's exploring the play yard, showing off her silly side, or simply soaking up affection, Beatrice loves being part of everything! She was found when she invited herself to an event we were at back in June on Needvilleâs Main Street, wearing a collar. Sadly, there was no owner information on it, and no one ever came looking for her, but Beatrice was happy to spend the event walking around and saying hi to everyone! Beatrice knows how to sit on command and takes treats gently from your hand. She has a medium energy level, and is the perfect blend of calm with playfulness. She enjoys getting outside and has plenty of fun exploring her surroundings. But what Beatrice really loves most is attention! She enjoys being pet and will happily soak up all the love you have to give, while leaning as close to you as possible. If you're looking for a sweet companion who loves affection, fun, and spending time you, come meet Beatrice!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
