Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 300. Hi, I’m Pupiccino! I’m a 30 lb 81/2 month-old female- adorable mix (maybe Husky, maybe cattle dog). My big eyes and perky ears get all the compliments! Rescued from the streets not long ago, my skin and fur are still recovering, but I’ve gained 9 lbs and I’m thriving! I’m learning the ropes fast — I’ve mastered couch snuggling and love playing with my foster siblings. My giant 90 lb foster brother is a bit intimidated and sometimes growls at me — I just give him a kiss and carry on! I haven’t been around cats, so I’m not sure if we would be friends (but I ignore my Quaker parrot foster sibling)! I’m a clumsy, silly girl still growing into my legs, but a total lovey at heart. My foster mom says I’ll do best in an active home with another dog or owners who love walks/runs. I’m working on leash training. I love walks and ignore other dogs, but still like to pull a little! I’m crate trained and potty trained! I adore kids, but my sharp puppy teeth mean I’ll need patient guidance around little ones until I learn better manners. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
