Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed. Meet Bella! Bella is an approximately 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier/Cattle Dog mix weighing around 80 pounds who is now available for adoption due to her previous owners not being able to care for her anymore. Bella is working on her people skills and needs a calm environment to be her best self. Bella is still settling in. Bella does well on her own without needing a canine companion but could do well in a home with another calm dog around her size. She is not recommended with small dogs or cats. If you currently have another dog in the home, a meet and greet will be required prior to adoption to help ensure a good fit. She is a very clean girl and very easy to walk. She would do great in a home that is looking for a companion with mellow energy. Bella's adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, microchipped, current on her annual boosters (including rabies), and heartworm negative. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
