He is the sweetest little boy once he gets to know you and feels safe. At first, Armani will bark when meeting new people, which seems to come from a lack of early socialization. With patience, reassurance, and consistency, he begins to relax and show his loving personality. He has so much potential! Armani loves belly rubs and will often roll onto his back to ask for them. He is a smart, treat-motivated boy who learns quickly and enjoys the rewards that come with training. Armani was recently neutered while in rescue and is currently learning to potty outside and is doing well. He walks nicely on a leash and loves going for long walks. His foster family is working on basic commands, and because Armani is so motivated by treats, he is making good progress. Armani mingles peacefully with the dogs in his foster home, but he does not actively engage with them. He is truly a people-focused dog and will make his person a very happy individual. Armani’s ideal forever home will be with someone who is patient, loving, and home often, preferably a female adopter who works from home or is home during the day. His perfect person will enjoy taking long walks, continue helping him build confidence, and provide the socialization he needs to feel secure in the world. Armani proves, every single day, that he’s absolutely worth the time, love, and commitment that is given to him. Armani is staying with Kathy in Voorhees, NJ.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
