Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever. *Name: Kitkat *Age: 1 year *Current Weight: 35lbs *Adoption fee: $475 (plus $150 spay/neuter deposit, see below for more information) Meet KitKat! KitKat is one of those dogs whose beauty goes far beyond what you see on the outside. Rescued from Georgia after she and her brother were found as strays and picked up by animal control, KitKat has every reason to be cautious—but instead, she has chosen kindness. She has a benign, inoperable facial mass that makes her look a little different, but it doesn't define who she is. In fact, it's just one small part of what makes her so unique. What truly stands out about KitKat is her gentle heart. She is sweet, affectionate, and simply wants someone to see past her appearance and love her for the incredible dog she is. She thrives on attention, enjoys being close to her people, and is happiest when she's receiving pets and reassurance. KitKat also gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would fit in beautifully with a canine companion or as the center of someone's world. She isn't looking for perfection—she's looking for someone who will look into her eyes instead of at her facial difference and recognize the amazing dog underneath. KitKat is living proof that the most extraordinary dogs don't always come in perfect packages. She's waiting for the person who will see her for who she truly is: a loyal, gentle soul with so much affection to give and a heart that's ready for a forever home. IMPORTANT: This dog has not yet been altered. SNARR requires a $150 deposit in addition to your adoption fee, as well as a strictly enforced Spay/Neuter Contract stating you will have this dog altered within 6 months of adoption. Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
