Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Someone told Tiki it’s time to start looking for her forever family… and she couldn’t be more excited! Tiki has been settling into foster life, and so far she’s been making everyone smile. She was an absolute rockstar for her vet checkup this week, and the verdict is in… she’s just the happiest, sweetest, friendliest little girl. She’s 3 years old, about 45 lbs, and ready to start accepting applications! Friendly with people Friendly and appropriate with dogs around her size Spayed, microchipped & vaccinated 3 years old About 45 lbs We don’t have any history with cats, and we do not cat test, so we can’t say how she’d do with feline friends. If you’re looking for a happy, easygoing best friend with the cutest smile around, Tiki just might be your girl. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
