Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. to adopt or ask questions: dogs2ndchance/ Addie is a 7-year-old, affectionate, toy-loving girl looking for a foster or forever home where she can be the only pet. She is fully up to date on vaccines and preventative care, has been medically evaluated, and is on medication to support her arthritis and comfort. Addie is house-trained, easygoing, loves belly rubs, sunbathing, short walks, and knows several basic commands. She would thrive with someone who can give her the love and attention she deserves in a calm, dog-free home without small children. Heartworm negative. Thank you for considering adopting a new family member. Memphis area adoption fee is $250 All dogs are spayed or neutered {unless medical issues prohibit the surgery}, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested {if old enough} and treated if necessary. They also are de-wormed and start heartworm and flea prevention when rescued. It is continued until adopted. Adopter is furnished with their 1st month's heartworm prevention. ** Out of State adoption fee is $500 and includes a $175 non refundable transportation fee paid to an approved animal transportation company. Several states require the dog to be quarantined 48 hours before pickup. The adopter pays the quarantine fee at time of pick up. Unless otherwise indicated Your Adoption Fee Includes Microchip Spay or Neuter All age appropriate vaccinations * Local 2 week trial adoption Adopter's first Month's Heartworm prevention 2 week supply of food to transition to your brand of food. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
