Scooby does resource guard his bones, so mealtime and special treats are best managed appropriately. He and Pepper have always been the only dogs in their home and would love to remain the center of someone's world. Scooby is a healthy little guy who recently had a dental procedure that included 13 extractions, along with a full blood panel and removal of a small growth on his chest. Overview:
The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge.
