Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). How to Adopt Meet Palmer! Your Next Family Dog Might Be Waiting for You! Palmer may be staying with a Husky rescue, but we’re pretty sure someone forgot to tell him he’s supposed to look like a Husky! With his beautiful white coat and warm brown eyes, Palmer looks much more like a Lab—and honestly, we don’t think he has much (if any!) Husky in him. But Husky or not, Palmer is one great dog! At 5½ years old and just under 50 pounds, he is the perfect size—not too big, not too small. He is friendly, social, and loves people , making him a wonderful candidate for a family looking for a loving companion. Palmer made a quick recovery after coming out of the shelter and has settled right in with his foster family. He gets along well with the Huskies in his foster home and has shown just how easygoing and adaptable he can be. We’re hopeful that somewhere out there is a family who won’t care that Palmer doesn’t quite look like a Husky. They’ll simply see what we see: a really great dog who deserves a really great home. ❤️ Palmer is ready for his forever family! If you’re looking for a friendly, social, family-loving dog, Palmer might just be your perfect match.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labsky, a charming crossbreed of the Labrador Retriever and the Siberian Husky, originated from the desire to combine the best traits of its beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large dogs, often exhibiting a fascinating blend of features; expect a robust build, varying coat colors and textures (from sleek black to fluffy merle), and captivating eye colors, sometimes even heterochromia. Temperamentally, Labskies are known for being intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They thrive on human companionship and require significant mental and physical stimulation to prevent boredom, making them best suited for active families or individuals with a large, securely fenced yard. Due to their energy levels and potential for vocalization, they are generally not ideal for apartment living. While typically healthy, they can inherit predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain skin allergies, so responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups are crucial.
