Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Location: Raleigh, NC Meet Kenobi! Applications open to out-of-state adopters --- Breed experience is required Kenobi is a handsome 1–1.5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog weighing approximately 30–35 lbs, and he is looking for a breed-savvy home ready to help him continue growing into the amazing dog he is meant to be. Kenobi is a high-energy, intelligent, and driven young ACD who thrives when he has structure, routine, and a job to do. This boy has the classic cattle dog personality — smart, energetic, athletic, motivated, and ready to learn! With the right person, Kenobi has the potential to be an incredible adventure buddy, training partner, or even a little sport dog. Kenobi is a sweet boy who can make a wonderful family companion, but he is looking for a home without young children. His ideal family will understand the breed and appreciate the energy, enthusiasm, and training needs that come with a young, high-drive cattle dog. * Kenobi does well with other dogs - May be a bit on stronger side, but currently exists with others and has previously gone to dog parks without issue. * Due to high prey drive, a home without cats is recommended * Sleeps great in a kennel overnight This boy is searching for an active home that wants to include him in their lifestyle. Daily walks, HIKING, exercise, enrichment, and training sessions will help Kenobi channel his energy in the best way possible. He isn’t looking for a backyard-only life — he wants a person who will engage his brain, build his confidence, and help him become the best version of himself. From a sports perspective, Kenobi has a lot of potential! His natural prey drive could make him a great candidate for barn hunt, and he has shown interest in chasing rollers (disc). He has also enjoyed the water in the past, so activities like dock diving could be a fun possibility with the right introduction. Kenobi is ready to find someone who sees the amazing potential in a young cattle dog and wants a loyal, active, fun-loving partner by their side. If you’re looking for a smart, energetic adventure buddy who wants a job and a relationship — Kenobi may be your perfect match! ❤️ Please contact waterdingoes25gmail. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
