Description

Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Staffordshire Bull Terrier (short coat). Welcome QT to CCPAL Rescue. Pronounced cutie. She is a Lab/Terrier. She is 8 months old and weighs about 60 pounds. She is a great weight and has a nice athletic body. She was found as a stray at a gas station here in Texas. She is very friendly and social. She likes all people and is not shy or reserved around strangers. She would be a great dog to run, jog, hike or any outdoor activity. She knows sit and is good on a leash. She definitely had an owner but now finds herself in need of a new home. She would be fine in a family with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She would be best with a family that is moderately active or highly active. She would love to join an athletic family that wants a fun social companion to join in the fun. She has a lower coat and lower on the shed scale. She is getting all her vaccinations and will be spayed soon and looking for her forever home. She is a gorgeous taupe color and has beautiful eyes. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Overview:

The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
