Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (medium coat). Catherine is a wonderful, potty-trained pup who has successfully lived with both people and another dog! She is calm, knows her basic cues, and takes treats gently. Although she is great at matching energy and can be either playful or calm, she does get vocal if excited. Catherine loves people and gets along great with other dogs after a slow, proper introduction. She is kennel trained and does well on the leash. She is a clever girl who loves to bury treasures and needs a secure yard since she's a bit of an escape artist. Because she prefers not to share her dinner, she is best suited as an only dog where she can get all the love or in a household where pets are fed separately. Once Catherine settles into your routine, she is hooked on you for life!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
