Excelllent! Keep reading about this sweetheart, This bio has been updated as of 7/19/26 and I am Carms foster mom. Carmi is a baja mutt rescued from the streets of tijuana early december. Sadly whoever rescued her allowed her to give birth and she did so mid december to 8 pups (7 survived) and we STILL have 2 of her puppers available for adoption and looking for foster as well. All 3 fostered together at casa de arwob. We do NOT know what Carmis breed is but knowing she is from baja anyone doign a DNA test will receive a SUPER MUTT aka likely good percentage pitbull, shepherd, would not be surprised poodle or chihuahua or some weird pure breed that comes out of like WHAT?HUH? SO, if you are looking to adopt a NO PITBULL whatsover, this girl is NOT the one for ya and can search for others looking for a home. If breed is irrespective for you and just looking for an EXCELLLENT match on your needs then keep reading because we know Carmi very well having her in san diego since early february in foster homes. Carmi has lived in a home with multiple young children, perfect. A home with both men and woman, fantastic. ALL homes have always had dogs and beutiful with them. Sadly, she does have focus on little movign critters ei cats or mice or lizars. Thankfully she is NOT very good at it and is easily responsive. IF a cat jumps in yard you can easily have her stop IF she knows who is the boss,, if you don't have experience being a leader that NO or LEAVE it means just that, then you will have an issue. If little creatures are not a problem for ya, PERFECT! maybe you are the perfect family/home for this beauty. Carmi is an EXCELLENT house dog. Easy, in all senses. NO anxiety, potty trained, perfect in crate, not a vocal dog but has a good bark when she does. She doesn't destroy or chew things, very easy and mindful. Looking for a social dog you can take to dog park, dog beach, restaurants, dog friendly places, she's your gal. No reactivity on or off leash. However, she CAN be strong puller she needs some leash training but not horrible at all. She is intelligent and good harted loyal girl who everyone adores when they meet her especially at the dog park. She loves to run with dogs, she plays tug of war with toys, sometimes she will fetch but not as some dogs, she will play with toys and sometimes destuff them but not to a huge degree, just once in a while. She is mostly chill, enjoys walks and dog/human companionship. She would be great in any setting that has NO little prey just teasing her like brids cats etc. Healthy fully vetted and the only negative thing would be she does get car sick. Typically hypersalivates and sometimes will chuck stuff. We have come to learn she has a 10-20min time frame bebfore she starts getting sick. She enjoys car rides and will happily jump up, so if you are looking for a dog to do long trips you best follow a protocol to prevent, minimize and simplify how to handle this Interested in fostering or adopting this beauty? Contact us via email and we can schedule a meet at the local dog park in 92111. We highly recommend submitting adoption applications online ahead of a meet so we can go through the process of approval before you meet them, you are welcome to meet FIRST before submitting but you take the risk you can be denied (for whatever reason that determines not a good match for each other -nothing to do with you as a pet owner) and its harder to meet a dog and like it and want to adopt it and then be told 'NO sorry' hence the reason for our process. We only allow this for Carmi since she has been waiting since March to be adopted and people think she may be a pit decreasing her chance at a happily ever after. Information for email and submit apps visit us at ARWOB If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
