Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). Meet Henna, a sweet girl who has had a terrible life. A call came into animal control stating that there was a dog living on a porch in a crate in direct sunlight, with not one bit of shade. The Animal Control Officer arrived at the home and saw that the person who called was correct. Henna not only had no shade, but her crate was also covered inside with feces and she had no water. Henna was taken from the owner, and because she was a sweet sweet girl, a rescue was called to save her from being at risk for euthanasia. Henna is a happy tail-wagging girl who only weighs 36 pounds and around 10 months old. Henna gets along with other dogs and loves to play. She is full of energy and would love a big fenced yard where she can run, play, and have lots of fun. She has such a sweet personality and would make a wonderful companion for an active family. We've included a video of Henna playing with 2 doggie friends at the shelter: .facebook/reel/1933152640706465 - this girl loves to play hard! Henna is up to date on vaccines and preventatives - she is in "move in" condition. Her adoption fee is $495. Please open your heart to this loving girl and give her the home she has never known. If you'd like to meet her, please complete an adoption application at .ehrdogs and ask for her by name - HENNA SCAS! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
