DOB 4-20-24), 60 lbs., vetted, and is or will be neutered! Looking for an easygoing best friend with a goofy personality? In his current dynamic, Bongo might be your perfect match! Bongo is the total package! He is great in the car, dog-tested, kid-tested, and cat-tested. He is fully house-trained and will sleep silently in his crate all night long. His favorite hobby is giving kisses to his foster cat siblings, and he’ll happily spend his day loving on everyone he meets. This sweet boy does have one learning curve: slippery hardwood floors. Give this king a carpet or rug, and he’ll confidently follow you from room to room like your loyal shadow. Bongo enjoys playing with toys and following his foster siblings around, but if given the choice, he’d much rather claim a comfy spot on the couch and nap the day away. When you first meet him, he may seem a little shy or reserved, but don’t let that fool you. With a little patience, love, and reassurance, Bongo’s happy, silly personality shines through, and you’ll quickly discover what a special dog he is. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
