Dog Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever (short coat). Hey there, it's me, Rocky! I'm a curious and affectionate young fella who's ready to find my forever adventure buddy. And let me tell you, I'm a catch! I'm a total lovebug who adores giving kisses and getting all the cuddles. I've got an easygoing personality and a gentle soul, but don't let that fool you — I'm also a bundle of energy and always up for a good time. I'm friendly, playful, and always eager to explore and discover new things. Plus, I know how to chill and be a quiet companion when it's time to relax. Rocky is 8 months old as of July and weighs 45 lbs. Rocky is at our Ringwood location at 260 Margaret King Avenue where he is available from 3-5 daily or by appointment. WALK-INS WELCOME! Our adoption fee is $350 check or cash and our pre-adopt can be found at .BASSshelterpets. We suggest having a tag with your phone number &/or address to bring a dog home. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
