Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Celia Isn't Asking for Much. At 8 years old, Celia isn't looking for adventure. She isn't looking for chaos. She isn't looking to be the center of attention. She just wants a soft bed, a few treats, some leisurely "sniffari" walks, and a person to call her own. This sweet senior girl has a quiet, gentle soul. She patiently waited to be leashed, happily accepted gentle handling, and preferred exploring the world with her nose over demanding attention. When she realized checking in with her person earned treats, she happily shifted her focus. Calm and gentle Food motivated Independent, but enjoys connecting with her person Dog indifferent and easygoing Looking for a quiet home where she can simply be loved. Celia currently has an ear infection that's being treated, but otherwise she's ready to leave the shelter behind and enjoy the comforts of a real home. Senior dogs have a way of stealing your heart. They don't ask for much. Just kindness. Just comfort. Just someone willing to say... "Come on, sweetheart. Let's go home." Could that someone be you? *********************************************************************** MAD Rescue is an official 501c3 foster based rescue organization and does not have a physical location. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
