Meet Rumi! Rumi is a gentle, sweet girl who may be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take long for her loving personality to shine through. With a little patience and a few kind words, she quickly warms up and becomes a loyal companion who enjoys being close to her favorite people. Rumi went on a weekend sleepover and here is what her sleepover foster had to say: `Rumi was an absolute gem for her sleepover. She truly exceeded every hope I had for her coming into a new environment. She hesitated only slightly getting into the car, and rode quietly home with a stop for a pup cup which she lapped up happily. We went for a long walk along the country roads, and Rumi walked and trotted along beautifully on a long line, sniffing and exploring. When we returned home, she jumped up on the bed with encouragement from me, and after a short time stretched out her full length, let out a huge sigh, and drifted off. She is in general rather low energy, not much interested in toys or play, although she did offer up a few play bows when excited to go out for a walk. She is totally quiet and non-destructive when left alone, uncrated, for short periods of time. She just waited quietly at the door for me to return. Rumi is super affectionate, she leaned in for pets and scratches, offered soft licks to my face, and loved nothing more than snuggling up together and resting her weight against me, rolling to the side for belly rubs. She followed me all around the house, and quietly laid by my side when I sat down. She laid on the deck with us with deer and squirrels in the surrounding woods and made no effort to chase but rather just watched quietly and contently. She is the easiest and most soulful of companions and touched me in a way that only those special heart dogs can. She is seriously one of the best fosters I have ever had, and all she needs is just someone to give her a chance to show her beautiful, loving, soulful self.` Interested in meeting Rumi?
