Description
Dog Breed: Great Dane (short coat). Approx. DOB: 7/2/24 Approx Weight: 150 Lbs Adoption Fee: $500 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness! Meet Tank! If you've been dreaming of a gentle giant, Tank might be your perfect match! Tank is a 2-year-old Great Dane with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He absolutely loves people and enjoys spending time with other dogs. Whether he's making new friends or soaking up attention from his favorite humans, Tank is happiest when he's part of the action. Even though he's an adult, Tank is still very much a puppy at heart. He's playful, goofy, and sometimes forgets just how big he is! Because of his enthusiasm and size, he'd thrive with a family committed to continuing his obedience training. With consistency and positive reinforcement, Tank has all the potential to become an amazing canine companion. Tank has been neutered and had a preventive gastropexy performed at the same time to help reduce the risk of bloat, a serious condition that can affect large, deep-chested breeds like Great Danes. Tank is looking for a loving home that will embrace his fun-loving spirit, provide structure and guidance, and include him in everyday life. If you're searching for a loyal best friend who will make you laugh, greet everyone with a wagging tail, and fill your home with love, Tank is ready to meet you! I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at .furrykidsrefuge/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Overview:
The Great Dane is an impressive and regal breed, often dubbed the "Apollo of Dogs" for its dignified stature and noble appearance. Originating in Germany, where it was historically bred for hunting boar, this giant breed is renowned for its immense size and striking presence. Physically, Great Danes are characterized by their tall, muscular build, short coat (available in various colors like fawn, brindle, black, blue, and harlequin), and expressive eyes. Despite their formidable size, they possess a surprisingly gentle and affectionate temperament, making them wonderful family companions. They are known for being patient with children and generally get along well with other pets. While their size might suggest otherwise, Great Danes can adapt to apartment living if provided with sufficient daily exercise, as they are not overly energetic indoors. However, prospective owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to bloat (gastric dilatation-volvulus), hip dysplasia, and certain heart conditions, necessitating careful breeding and regular veterinary check-ups. Overall, a Great Dane offers a loving and loyal addition to the right home.
