Petree is a quiet, loving soul who wins hearts the moment he curls up beside you. With his gentle nature, kind eyes, and easygoing personality, he quickly becomes your faithful shadow, happily following you from room to room just to stay close. While he has a wonderfully calm and balanced presence, he may actually be younger than expected, showing sweet bursts of playfulness that bring so much joy to your day. With his long legs, he moves with effortless grace during those active moments and can clear jumps like a natural athlete! He greets you with pure happiness and a cute little hop when you return home, and he has a hilariously endearing habit of burrowing into a pile of dirty laundry or climbing right into your gym bag to make a cozy bed. Outdoors is where Petree’s fun-loving spirit shines. He gets visibly excited the moment he sees his leash and is a versatile partner whether you want to go for a brisk run or enjoy a calm, relaxing stroll. He also lights up whenever he spots other dogs, making him a total delight to take on adventures. Yet as much as he loves his outings, Petree deeply treasures his sleep time—he genuinely loves long, peaceful naps and settling in for a cozy rest after a fun activity. At home, he is curious, mostly house-trained, treat-motivated, and adores soft pets, belly rubs, and settled cuddle time. Petree gets along great with men, women, teenagers, and other dogs. While he hasn’t been tested with young children or cats yet, his gentle disposition suggests he would do well with respectful kids and could potentially co-exist with feline friends. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion who will stay by your side and fill your home with simple joys, Petree is ready to steal your heart! Petree is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $200. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Maltipoo, a delightful crossbreed, emerges from the charming combination of a Maltese and a Miniature Poodle, offering a compact and affectionate companion. Originating in the United States, this "designer dog" was selectively bred for its desirable traits, particularly its low-shedding coat and amiable disposition. Physically, Maltipoos typically weigh between 5-20 pounds, sporting a soft, wavy to curly coat that comes in various colors, most commonly white, cream, or apricot. Their temperament is a major draw: they are known for being intelligent, playful, and incredibly loving, often forming strong bonds with their families. This makes them highly suitable for both families with children and apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise and mental stimulation. While generally healthy, potential health considerations can include patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy, and white shaker syndrome, inherited from their parent breeds. With proper care and attention, a Maltipoo can be a joyful and long-lived member of any household.
