Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Hello there! I'm a distinguished older gentleman who's happiest when life is peaceful and predictable. I can be a little nervous when meeting new people or exploring new places, so I appreciate patience and understanding while I get comfortable. Once I settle in, I'm perfectly content spending my day sniffing around, exploring at my own pace, or finding the coziest spot in the house for a well-earned nap. I'm more of an independent guy and enjoy doing my own thing. When it comes to other dogs, I can be a bit pushy and prefer to have my own space, so I'd do best with slow introductions or as your one-and-only companion. One thing you should know about me.... I absolutely love food! Treats are the quickest way to my heart, and I'm proud to show off my `sit` and `shake` whenever snacks are involved. If you're looking for a laid-back senior with plenty of charm and a love for the simple things in life, I just might be your perfect match.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
