Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Mixed (medium coat). Meet June, a beautiful 5-year-old Malinois mix dog. She is approximately 60 lbs. of pure love. Juno was adopted from Rescue Ridge 3 years ago, but sadly, her owner has fallen ill and can no longer care for this sweet girl. Now, she finds herself searching for a new home through no fault of her own. Juno has been a model citizen in the home. She is housebroken and extremely well-behaved. She is friendly with everyone, including children and other dogs. Juno knows commands, walks nicely on a leash, and enjoys the freedom of running around in her yard. Her owner describes her as a “good girl” and is heartbroken about returning her to Rescue Ridge. If you are looking for a well-trained family & dog-friendly pup - Juno is your girl! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
